SV comic book

Sacrifice Valley is a story concept I am developing with Robby Villabona. It's set in the Philippines and will be told in comicbook format.

Cast of Characters

1. Apung Lucia - looks ancient and withered. Around her you will feel great wisdom. She has infinite patience, willing to wait out problems until solutions present themselves. She looks like she's nearing her hundreds. In reality she is nearly 300 years old and was present at the founding of KKK. She is now looking at her young followers for her successor.

Apung Lucia comes from The Ancients -- another sect (race?) that practices a rigorous lifestyle and diet such that they live for hundreds of years.

2. Aya - one of the young assistants of Apung Lucia's sect. Aya has been entrusted with a lot of crucial information about SV, including its treasury. Little does Aya know that she is being groomed to be the next leader of SV, and will actually be the prophesied leader who will activate the second revolution.

3. Sen. Liamson - a former activist turned military officer turned senator. Liamson suffered as a child in a poor family and learned the hard way about how to get out of poverty. He is a contradiction of moral values -- a devout Catholic but cold in his willingness to eliminate obstacles to what he thinks is the right path.

Liamson allies with Apung Lucia in order to penetrate her organization and destroy it. Our story begins in the middle of Liamson's plot to discredit SV by destroying the reputation of Apung Lucia (by implicating her in a pyramiding scam and a syndicate that kidnaps poor children and fielding them as beggars).

4. Estong - a "taong grasa" with a unique power. He can project visions directly into the minds of people. Depending on his whim, the projections can appear as visions or as direct 3-D movies that seem to be projected in front of the viewers' eyes.

5. Chacha - a little girl with down syndrome. Her power is ___

Introduction

"SV" is the working title of a project with Robby Villabona. It's about a religious sect founded by Apung Lucia (literally, grandma Lucia), a wizened crone who is secretly working to change the conditions of Philippine society.

In truth, SV was founded by Katipuneros at the dawn of the American takeover of the Philippines. SV was created to continue the KKK ideals. The creation was masterminded by Rizal and Bonifacio -- who both agreed to sacrifice their lives to cover the creation of this new secret society.

Gen. Macario Sakay, the last general to surrender to the Americans, was the chief implementor. His surrender which was supposed to signal the end of KKK was actually another cover to pave the way for SV.

Spanish Soldier Disappears

John Michell gives an example of apparent teleportation in his book The Flying Saucer Vision.

On 25th October 1593, a Spanish soldier was arrested in the main square of Mexico City because he was unable to account for his presence there, and because he was wearing the uniform of a regiment that was at that time stationed in the Philippine Islands, nearly a year's travel away by ship. The befuddled soldier nevertheless gave precise details of his life in Manila up to the moment he had found himself instantaneously and inexplicably transported to Mexico. He was even able to tell his interrogators of the recent death of the Spanish governor of the Philippines; news that did not arrive in Mexico City for many months. (p.98)

It is interesting to wonder what could have caused this event. Did the soldier possess unknown psychic abilities, was he unusually devout, or was he perhaps in the wrong place at the wrong time when some delinquent spirits or aliens decided to have some fun at his expense?
